(Laurel, NE) -- An Omaha former Marine nears the end of his near 140 mile walk in support of an Afghan refugee.
Bob Koenig started his walk from Elkhorn to Hartington on Saturday. As of Wednesday evening, he has completed 120 miles with only 18 to go.
Koenig's Ruck for Refugees is raising money for an Afghan interpreter who served alongside him, whose family fled 140 miles on foot to escape the Taliban this summer.
Money raised will go to housing for the interpreter and their 33 family members.
