(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa is ranking first in the U.S. for most affordable personal auto insurance.
The study from the Insurance Research Council says Iowans spend on average just over one-percent of income on auto insurance. Factors used in the ranking include accident frequency, repair costs, and attorney involvement.
Other states that ranked most affordable include North Dakota and Hawaii. States ranked least affordable include Louisiana, Florida and Michigan.
