Iowa falls to 16th in Coaches' Poll, Iowa State drops out of Top 25

(Iowa City, IA) -- Saturday brought a pair of losses for Iowa and Iowa State. The weekly update to the college football Coaches' Poll now reflects those losses.

The Hawkeyes drop to 16th in the latest top 25 after falling to Wisconsin 27-7, falling to 6-2 on the year and 3-2 in the Big 10. The loss marks the first time Iowa has dropped two games in a row by double-digits since 2013.

Iowa State fell out of the top 25 altogether after losing to West Virginia 38-31. The Cyclones were outscored by the Mountaineers 14-0 in the fourth quarter. Iowa State drops to 5-3 on the year with the loss and 3-2 in Big 12 play.

The Hawkeyes travel to Evanston next week to take on the Northwestern Wildcats. The game will be Saturday, Nov. 6th at 6 pm on BTN.

The Cyclones stay home in Ames and welcome the Texas Longhorns to town. Iowa State plays on FS1 this Saturday at 6:30 pm.

College football awaits Tuesday Nov. 2nd, as the College Football Playoff Committee will unveil their first rankings of the season.
