(Omaha, NE) -- Two juveniles were captured after escaping from the Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center.

Sheriffs say a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old scaled the fence behind the juvenile center on Monday morning. An employee chased the two teens until they crossed a creek and the pursuit was no longer safe.

The search for the teens lasted 4 hours. 6 News reports the two were captured around six blocks south of the justice center near 103rd Street and Cornhusker Road.

The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office says they utilized dozens of officers, a helicopter, and several K-9 units in the pursuit and search of the juveniles.

Sarpy County is conducting an internal review to prevent similar events in the future.
