(Lincoln, NE) -- The Huskers' women's basketball team won their season opener in convincing fashion at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Tuesday. The men's basketball team followed up the dominant performance with a one-point loss at the buzzer.
The day opened with the Huskers' taking on the Maine women's basketball team, winning 108-to-50.
Following up the 58-point victory, the men took the court, where Western Illinois hit a game-winning 3-pointer in the game's waning moments to beat the Huskers 75-to-74.
The women's team face off against Prairie View on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 7:00 pm in Lincoln.
The men's team waits until Friday, Nov. 12 to host the Sam Houston State Bearkats at 7:30 pm in Lincoln.
