(Des Moines, IA) -- A space heater is being blamed for a deadly house fire in northeast Des Moines. The fire broke out Sunday evening at a home in the 19-hundred block of Glenbrook Drive. The fire department says a space heater caught fire in the home's basement, just below an elderly woman's bedroom. The woman died in the fire and she hasn't been identified.
