(Jefferson, IA) -- A family is safe after a tree was uprooted and fell on their home during Wednesday's storm. The Monthei family home in Jefferson sustained major damage from a tree falling on the home while they were sheltered in the basement Wednesday. Tree damage was also noted to the property's barn and other buildings. Randy Monthei and his family are staying in a Jefferson hotel until further notice.
