(Ankeny, IA) -- A new elementary school is another step closer to being built in Ankeny. On Tuesday the Ankeny School Board approved $23.5-million in construction bids to build the new school. The school district will spend about another $6.5-million on other costs as it closes in on its $30-million budget. The school will be located on Ankeny’s north side and construction is expected to be mostly complete by May of 2024.
