(Undated) -- The man accused of murdering an Iowa State Patrol sergeant wants statements he gave to investigators thrown out. Attorneys for Michael Lang say he was under duress and on too much medication when he gave interviews after the crime. Lang's accused of shooting and killing Sergeant Jim Smith during a standoff in Grundy Center back in April. He's charged with first-degree murder. The judge in the case hasn't indicated how he'll rule on the motion. He'll next appear in court on January 19th on a request to have his trial moved to another county.
