(Des Moines, IA) -- Cities across Iowa are recording snow totals after the New Year's Day snowstorm. Five and a half inches were recorded at the Des Moines International Airport. Johnston, West Des Moines, and Waukee all recorded four inches around the metro. Ottumwa in southeast Iowa saw almost seven inches of snow, recording six-point-eight inches. Areas southeast of interstates 80 and 35 saw the highest totals.
