(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller has his first challenger in this year's election. Guthrie County Attorney Republican Brenna Bird announced her candidacy today. Bird has been the Guthrie County Attorney since 2018 and previously served as counsel for former Iowa Governor Terry Branstad. The 77-year-old Miller is the longest-serving attorney general in U.S. history, having been elected ten times since 1978.
