(Ames, IA) -- Outdoor ice skating rinks in Ames are open again.
The two rinks in South River Valley Park on the east side are separately designed to host hockey and skating and are free to use.
Ames Parks and Recreation says because of the unusually warm December, it was hard to decide when to make the ice. The city says people can find out when the rinks are open on the Parks and Recreation Department's website.
