Inmate From Omaha Area Missing From Lincoln Facility

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says an inmate is missing from the Community Corrections Center - Lincoln.

They say 21-year old Christian Crawford was assigned to remove trash from the building late Tuesday afternoon, but did not come back inside and was spotted running away from the facility shortly after 5:00 p.m.

Investigators say he later deactivated an electronic monitoring device.

Crawford started his sentence in October, 2018.

He was sentenced to six to 10 years on charges out of Douglas County including a number of robbery counts and tampering with evidence.

He has a tentative release date of July, 2023.

Community Corrections Center-Lincoln is one of two community custody facilities operated by the state corrections department.

Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility.

Inmates are allowed to participate in work opportunities, attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
