Jobs Available at Douglas County Election Commission

The Commission is looking for a permanent full-time position and also for temporary workers to assist its team in administering the 2022 Statewide Primary and General Elections.

The permanent full-time position is the Election Board Coordinator.

The main function of this position is coordinating and conducting the drafting and training of all workers at polling places and other election day support positions.

Other employment opportunities include temporary positions.

Employees are hired on a seasonal basis to perform a wide variety of tasks including data entry, customer service, ballot preparation, and polling place supply and equipment assembly.

“Temporary employees are vital to administering well-organized elections,” stated Brian W. Kruse, Douglas County Election Commissioner. “Temporary employment at the Douglas County Election Commission provides a competitive wage and an opportunity to learn about the democratic process in a nonpartisan environment.”

Hourly wages vary depending on position responsibilities.

All employees must have a high school diploma, be registered voters, or eligible to register to vote, and possess strong attention to detail.

Additional qualifications are required for some positions.

Hours of work are generally 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with evenings and weekends possible depending upon position and workload.

All positions are based at the Douglas County Election Commission located at 12220 West Center Road.
