(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa legislature is back in session Monday. Iowa leaders will be proposing multiple bills in the months to come. Members of the Republican party are expected to cover a proposal on an income tax cut because of nearly $2-billion the state hasn't touched. Members of the Democratic party may look to use some of those funds to help schools and for childcare. Other topics of discussion are how to get more people back to work in the state. Abortion laws and whether or not to let voters decide on legalizing marijuana are topics of discussion too, among other issues. The Iowa legislature is usually in session for 100 days. It went into overtime last year.
