(Decorah, IA) -- A midwestern dairy company is donating tens of thousands of milk cartons to local food pantries.
Kemps is donating almost 400-thousand cartons of shelf-stable milk to Midwestern food banks, over 46-thousand of those will be donated across northeastern Iowa in 16 counties.
Pantry leaders say milk isn't usually donated, because most pantries don't have cold storage. Shelf-stable milk can be stored at room temperatures.
