More Typical January Cold On Tap

WOWT 6 News Senior Chief Meteorologist Rusty Lord forecasts highs in the 50s Tuesday afternoon, especially in areas with less snow cover.

Winds will increase Tuesday evening, however, and shift from the north, bringing in much colder temperatures the rest of the week.

The Omaha office of the National Weather Service says an Arctic high will settle south from Canada Wednesday, bringing back the deep freeze.

They say expect temperatures to be 30 to 45 degrees colder than Tuesday.

Factor in the wind, and it will feel like zero to -15 all day Wednesday.
