Court Strikes Down Injunction Blocking Iowa School Mask Mandate Ban

(Iowa) -- A federal appeals court is striking down a judge's injunction blocking Iowa's law banning mask mandates in schools.

The three-judge panel has ruled that the statewide injunction was too broad. Disability advocacy organization Arc of Iowa and a group of parents sued the state over its law prohibiting school mask mandates. The appeals court has ruled the parents are free to continue pursuing their suit, but the injunction blocking the state's law is too general.

The legal battle may not be over though. The court has sent the case back to a lower court for a revision of the injunction.
