The U.S. Strategic Command, based at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, announces "Global Lightning 22" begins this week in coordination with the U.S. Indo Pacific Command.
In a news release, STRATCOM says this is an annual command post exercise designed to train Department of Defense forces and assess joint operational readiness "across USSTRATCOM mission areas."
They call "Global Lightning" an invaluable training opportunity that tests USSTRATCOM mission areas to enhance readiness and creates the conditions for effective strategic deterrence against a variety of threats.
This year’s exercise will provide training opportunities for headquarters staff at Offutt to integrate and synchronize efforts with the U.S. Indo Pacific Command headquarters and its component commands
