(Ankeny, Iowa) -- An Ankeny man is out on bail after being arrested for shooting a man Tuesday night.
Ankeny Police say the shooting happened at the Tradition Point Apartments in the 1100 block of SW 28th Street around 8:30pm. 24 year-old John Peak has been identified as the shooter, according to a criminal complaint in the case.
The complaint says Peak was drunk at the time, was recklessly handling a loaded handgun, then pulled the trigger, shooting the victim in the face. The victim has not been identified and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for February 15th.
