DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Iowa Department of Revenue says it's ready for the 2021 tax filing season.
"Our goal is to process refunds in 30 days, which was the same goal we had last year--and we were able to meet that goal," says Iowa Department of Revenue spokesperson John Fuller.
He says they're fully staffed for the tax filing season that started Monday.
"We're not immune to the challenges that other employers face here in Iowa either, but we are ready to go--we're staffed, and if people are owed are refund we want to get it to them as soon as possible," Fuller says.
He says there are two things Iowa taxpayers can do to quickly get those refunds.
"Filing early and filing electronically is always a good idea--and a great majority of Iowa do file electronically. If you need help getting started, a good place to start is our website--tax.iowa.gov," Fuller says.
Iowa's tax filing deadline is May 2nd.
