Council Bluffs Police say officers were sent to North 7th Street and West Washington Avenue around 2 a.m. Tuesday to look into a car - pedestrian accident.
When they arrived, they found a man lying in the middle of the intersection.
They say the victim had a severe head injury and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
At this time, investigators say the driver of the run vehicle is unknown.
This accident is under investigation.
