(Ankeny, Iowa) -- An Ankeny man is in custody after attempting to rob a gas station with a fake gun.
Police say 33 year-old Eric Storm tried to rob the Kum & Go at 1025 E. 1st Street Tuesday after a clerk refused to sell him alcohol. The clerk says he refused the sale after Storm said he didn't have his ID. Police say Storm left the gas station but returned a few minutes later holding an item the clerk knew wasn't a gun and demanded money from the cash register.
The clerk again refused. Ankeny police arrested Storm on Wednesday. He's being charged with 2nd Degree Burglary.
