'Lockdowns should be rejected out of hand'

Scientists are now telling us that lockdowns in the United States and across Europe had almost no effect on Covid 19 infection rates and in some cases when combined, actually increased mortality.

The meta-analysis of several studies by researchers at John Hopkins University and other institutions concluded that the policy did much more harm than good.

"While this meta-analysis concludes that lockdowns have had little to no public health effects, they have imposed enormous economic and social costs where they have been adopted," the researchers wrote. "In consequence, lockdown policies are ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy instrument." - The bold here is mine, but it is such a stunning conclusion.

"We find little to no evidence that mandated lockdowns in Europe and the United States had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality rates," the researchers wrote.

As regular folks were saying from the very beginning - if you were older or had other health issues, you should probably isolate yourself for a while. The research backed that up too.

The studies found that only shelter-in-place orders reduced Rona mortality by 5.1%!

But when they looked at shelter-in-place orders with other lockdown measures they found that those shelter-in-place orders actually increased Coronavirus mortality by 2.8%.

Serious question - is anyone shocked by this?
