More Disruptions at Des Moines City Council Meeting

(Des Moines, IA) -- People in Des Moines attending the city council meeting this week had a few words for council members on a number of issues. Several constituents went over their speaking time Monday night, causing short delays at the end of the meeting. Speakers are allowed two minutes before the mic cuts off and the city council moves on to the next person. Earlier in the meeting several other people complained about how the city is spending money on projects. One speaker cursed out the city council and another held up a sign reading "quit your jobs". The city council discussed several topics including repairing and replaces three bridges, a plan that some constituents disagreed with but passed. Several other people became upset at the end of the meeting when they weren't given enough time to speak.
