(Des Moines, IA) -- A Nevada man is in the Polk County Jail after leading police on a chase through multiple Central Iowa counties.

22-year-old Adam Maymi of Henderson, Nevada led police through Madison, Dallas, and Polk counties, and at one point, was clocked going 125 mph in a 55 mph zone.

The chase started after police tried to pull Maymi over for several traffic violations.

Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Alex Dinkla discusses what goes in to a longer car chase.

"Those officers are really dedicated. They have to be truly locked into that mindset of that pursuit, whether to continue to pursue, or to go ahead and call off that pursuit," Dinkla tells WHO 13. "Our officers, they made the right judgement, made the right call, and ultimately, got the suspect into custody safely."

The Des Moines Police Department says the chase ended after Maymi rolled his car over near the intersection of Grand Avenue and 62nd Street around 10 o'clock this morning.

Maymi faces several charges, including felony eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police say he tried to flee the scene after his vehicle flipped over. Maymi was taken down with a Taser.

He is also charged with possession of marijuana.
