(Omaha, NE) -- Home sales are down more than 8-percent, and prices are 14-percent higher than a year ago. With more buyers than homes for sale in the Omaha metro right now, that makes it a seller's market. January home sales numbers just released by the Omaha Board of Realtors and Great Plains MLS show it's a tight market for buyers. Both new and existing homes are selling for more than the asking price.

New homes are selling in 29 days. Existing homes are being sold after just 13 days on the market.
