The Nebraska Attorney General joins a group of bipartisan state Attorneys General looking into "TikTok's" impact on young users.
Doug Peterson says the collaborative effort aims to investigate "TikTok" for promoting its social media platform to children and young adults while its use is associated with physical and mental health harms.
The investigation also partially focuses on the techniques used by "TikTok" to boost user engagement.
Depending on their findings, they will determine if the app based in China violates state consumer protection laws.
