WalletHub: Nebraska Has 6th-Highest Taxes In The U.S.

(Undated) -- Nebraska is in the top-ten for highest taxes in the U.S. WalletHub says the average Nebraskan pays $8,386 a year in state and local taxes, 6th-highest in the country. WalletHub also says state taxes in Nebraska are 22.79% higher than federal taxes. The state with the lowest overall taxes is Alaska and the state with the highest is Illinois.
