Higher Temps; Dry, Windy Conditions Increase Fire Danger

The Omaha office of the National Weather Service says a very high fire danger is forecast for Wednesday afternoon ahead of a cold front pushing through the region.

The fire danger is for portions of east central, southeast, and northeast Nebraska and southwest, and west central Iowa.

WOWT 6 News meteorologist David Koeller says the highs today will be in the lower 70s.

Rain and cooler temps are in the forecast for the end of the week.
