Polls are now open for Des Moines metro towns holding special elections. Elections are being held in Clive, Ankeny, and Mitchellville to fill city council seats. Polls are open until 8:00 p.m. Two candidates are going for a seat in Ankeny, Tod Shafer and Bill Lu. Candidates Srikant Mikkilineni and David Bell are going for the city council seat in Clive. Voters in Mitchellville have four candidates to choose from: Will Wilimek, Erin Houska, Elaine E. Webb, and Joseph A. Crook. Information on where people in these communities can vote is on the Polk County website.
