DES MOINES, Iowa -- A Northwest Iowa county reports it's fourth case of bird flu this month.

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship says the latest case in Buena Vista County is in a commercial turkey flock.

The new bird flu case is the 10th reported in Iowa since the first of the month.

So far, nearly eight million chickens and turkeys have been destroyed in Iowa in an effort to slow the spread of the bird flu virus.

State and federal agriculture officials think the virus is being carried into Iowa by migrating wild birds.
