The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services reports 40-year old Nicole Eliker, a corporal at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women, was arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol this week for unauthorized communication with a committed offender, which is a felony.
Eliker immediately resigned her position upon her arrest, according to a news release.
The person with whom she is accused of interacting is currently on parole supervision.
The department says Eliker had been employed by Corrections since 2012, and has always worked at the womens' prison in York.
