(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa’s Attorney General is pushing to find a new way to lower what he is calling record gas prices. Iowa AG Tom Miller and Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt are sending a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency asking for an emergency waiver of the Clean Air Act. The Act bans the sale of E-15 in parts of the country from June to September because of air quality regulations. The two state attorneys are saying the ability to sell E-15 across America throughout the summer months would lower volatile gas prices for Americans. They say the change would also decrease America’s dependence on international oil sources.
