(Iowa) -- Iowans will donate thousands of meals to Ukraine through the Meals From the Heartland organization.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds says about 5,000 bags of food, or roughly 30,000 meals, will be loaded onto trucks here in Iowa, driven to New Jersey, then shipped to Iowa's sister state of Cherkasy in Ukraine. Reynolds says it will take about two weeks for the meals to arrive, and she added that she plans to announce an even larger packaging event next week.
