(Des Moines, Iowa) -- A years-long project to adjust traffic light timing in Des Moines is entering its final phase.
The Des Moines Traffic Light Timing Project began in 2018, and once completed, it will adjust the timing of all traffic lights in the city. The goal of the project is to make traffic flow more smoothly, as Des Moines' population continues to grow. The new timing will be adapted to certain times of the day depending on traffic volume.
The project is in its fifth and final phase and should be complete by the end of 2023.
