(Decorah, Iowa) -- A trial date is set for a Winnesheik County man accused of murdering his father.
The trial of Aaron Whittle is scheduled for October 3rd. Whittle is charged with shooting and killing his father, Lawrence Whittle, last month. Lawrence Whittle was reported missing on March 18th, and his truck was later found at a park about 15 minutes outside of Decorah. Court documents say the murder happened on March 17th at Aaron Whittle's home. A criminal complaint in the case says Aaron Whittle confessed to the shooting, but he is pleading not guilty.
