(Mitchellville, Iowa) -- No one is hurt after a fire at the Polk County Metro East Landfill Tuesday night.
The fire was discovered Tuesday night at the landfill just south of Mitchellville, and strong winds made it difficult for firefighters to put the fire out. The Metro Waste Authority says overnight rain helped to extinguish the flames.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
