(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Charges are filed against a man accused of running away naked after causing a multi-car crash.
Cedar Rapids Police say 33-year-old Andrew Cairy was driving the wrong way on I-380 last January.
Audio from Iowa State Patrol Dispatch reveals the crash left two sedans in the ditch and a semi-truck on its side. The driver of the semi was extricated in order to escape the vehicle.
On January 6th, at the time of the crash 9:30 am, it was -5 degrees when police say they arrested Cairy after running across the interstate naked.
Cairy is charged with serious injury by vehicle, leaving the scene of a serious injury accident, and two counts of leaving the scene of a bodily injury accident.
Three people involved in the crash were hospitalized, one with a broken leg and another with a splenic laceration.
