A long time Nebraska public officeholder, public servant, and attorney has died.
The word came out early Tuesday morning on social media from his family, including wife Ann Ferlic Ashford, that former Nebraska Congressman and State Senator Brad Ashford has passed away from cancer at the age of 72.
His family notes in the Facebook message that the death was peaceful.
Brad Ashford announced earlier this year he had brain cancer.
