(Des Moines, IA) -- The sale of the historic Des Moines Social Club could be in danger because of a sound ordinance. The buyers of the building are asking the city council for a sound permit that would allow them to hold events like weddings and other parties. However neighbors say social club events in the past have been too loud. The buyers say they won't go through with the buy if they don't get a sound permit. The city council didn't make a decision Monday night but members say they will make decision soon.
