LINCOLN, Nebraska -- There's a new community college tuition reimbursement program for Nebraska state employees.
"It will help us be able to get people the skills they need to take the jobs we have all across this great state," says Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts.
He was joined for the State Capitol announcement Monday morning by Southeast Community College President Paul Illich.
"We're the most affordable option for higher education here in Nebraska. We produce approximately 70,000 graduates every 10 years," he says.
The program will provide 100 percent tuition reimbursement at any Nebraska community college.
Gov. Ricketts' office says a thousand children of state workers could benefit from the program in it's first year.
There are 16,000 state employees across Nebraska.
