Former President Donald Trump shows his support for Nebraska Republicans.
He spoke at a "Save America Rally" at the "I-80 Speedway" in Greenwood Sunday evening, affirming his support for Republican Governor's candidate Charles Herbster.
“I think Charles is going to do very well, and if he does, you’ll be very happy and you’re gonna have an even more prosperous state. we’ve made it very prosperous; and I really think he’s going to do just a fantastic job, and if I didn’t feel that, I wouldn’t be here;” Trump said.
The rally was originally scheduled for Friday, but was postponed to Sunday because of the severe weather that did move through southeast Nebraska.
The Nebraska Democratic Party responded to the rally:
“The cabal of shame was on full display at the Trump rally -- spreading lies, hate and grievances. Trump looked desperate, invoking all his old one-liners, as he tries to cling to relevancy,” said Chair Jane Kleeb.
The Nebraska Primary is on Tuesday May 10th.
