With the outdoor grilling season approaching, Governor Pete Ricketts designates May "Beef Month" in Nebraska.
"It's our number one business in our largest industry," the Governor said. "Beef accounts for about ten billion dollars in cash receipts every year."
Ricketts says that's about 45 percent of all Nebraska ag receipts.
While making the proclamation Monday at the the Capitol, Ricketts said last year, Nebraska exported a record amount of beef, over a billion dollars worth.
