(Des Moines, IA) -- A key bike trail in Des Moines is closing this week. The Meredith Trail near Gray's Lake from MacRae Park to the bridge on Southwest First Street, is expected to be closed for several months.
Des Moines Parks and Recreation says the closure is for construction to raise a nearby levee.
The levee must have its elevation raised to be in regulation with federally mandated repairs.
