(Des Moines, Iowa) -- One of the 10 teens charged in the fatal shooting near East High School in Des Moines will be tried as an adult.
A Polk County judge denied a request from 16 year-old Romeo Perdomo to have his case moved to juvenile court. Perdomo faces multiple charges, including first degree murder, in the March 7th shooting that killed 15 year-old Jose David Lopez. Life in prison is the mandatory sentence for a first degree murder conviction as an adult in Iowa. Perdomo is pleading not guilty.
Perdomo's trial is scheduled for June 27th.
