(Adel, Iowa) -- Another Iowan is in custody accused of participating in the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Chad Heathcote of Adel was arrested at his home Wednesday and is now the sixth Iowan arrested in connection to the riot. Court documents say the FBI received an anonymous tip in January of 2021 identifying Heathcote as a participant in the riot. A second witness contacted the FBI a few weeks later. A third witness identified Heathcote in March of last year by the pink gas mask he wore inside the U.S. Capitol.
Heathcote is now in federal custody facing multiple charges.
