(Ankeny, Iowa) -- The Ankeny Police Department will host a community picnic this week.
The picnic will be held outside the Ankeny Police Department Headquarters located at 411 SW Ordnance Road. People will be able to see the police department's 1964 Chevy Impala squad car, tour police headquarters, and see a LifeFlight helicopter land at the event. Chick Fil-A is donating a thousand free sandwiches, and Kona ice will give away snow cones while supplies last.
The picnic will take place from 4pm-7pm on Thursday. The event is free and open to the public.
