(Des Moines, IA) -- The price for a gallon of gas reaches four dollars in Iowa.

AAA says the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Iowa is $4.00. That's up 11 cents since last week and 18 cents since last month.

If you're looking for the cheapest gas in Iowa, Palo Alto County would be where to look. The average price for a gallon of unleaded gas in the county goes for $3.89.

The most expensive fuel is in Davis County, where the average gallon of unleaded gas is $4.26.

The average prices for a gallon of unleaded in Iowa's Metros are the following:

Ames - $4.02

Cedar Rapids - $3.98

Council Bluffs - $3.99

Des Moines - $3.99

Dubuque - $4.07

Iowa City - $4.03

Quad Cities (IA only) - $3.95

Sioux City - $3.96

Waterloo-Cedar Falls - $4.04
