Major construction will start Thursday on Merle Hay Road in Johnston.
"We'll be having some traffic shifts through the construction period here and that will be kicking off starting at 9 a.m. Thursday. We'll be running traffic in one lane in each direction and shifting them over in the southbound lanes and running those head-to-head." Matt Greiner with the City of Johnston tells WHO Radio News
Merle Hay Road just north of the I-80 exit will be down to one lane in each direction starting Thursday morning starting at 9 a.m.
"That'll stay that way through Friday, and then Friday at 9 p.m. we'll be closing Merle Hay for the weekend." Said Greiner.
Greiner says after the weekend, Merle Hay will go back to one lane in each direction for the rest of the summer.
